Review: Clickworker

What is it?

Clickworker is a website hiring freelancers to work on writing, translating, researching, and data processing. It's free to sign up.

How does it work?

Once you have signed up and logged in you are taken to your 'home page'. This page displays your available jobs and assessments. You take online assessments in language and writing skills, translation skills or internet research skills to open up different job opportunities.

As described by their website:

The tasks available may vary from clickworker to clickworker based on qualification assessments, previous work assessments, education, language abilities, and interests. Depending on your total profile and qualifications you may be offered some projects or may excluded from others. Payment is made for each accepted and completed task. The amount is fixed and published ahead of time.

How easy is it?

How easy you find the available tasks depends on your own skills and abilities. Some of the Clickworker jobs are pretty simple for the average computer literate person, some others require good writing, editing and SEO skills.

How do you get paid?

As you complete tasks, your wages add up in the corner of your homepage. Currently, there are two payment options – SEPA bank account transfers and PayPal payments. You will only get paid if you provide valid bank account or PayPal account data, as well as your tax information. If you have reached a certain amount $1 for Paypal, $10 for SEPA transfers you will be paid on the 7-9th of the month.

How much money will you make?

The task are mostly microjobs. Small individual tasks all priced differently. You might be doing internet comparison research, where you decide which is the stronger between two web pages. Judging one website might earn you as little as 5 cents. You build up your income by working consistently over an hour. Some jobs which take longer - writing 300 words of web content, for example might earn you around $5. How fast you work will determine how much money you are able to make per hour.

Is Clickworkers a work at home scam?

From my experience with them, Clickworkers is not a scam. It is a genuine site which will pay you for work completed. It is very user friendly to join and there is no long assessment test that you must do before being accepted like Lionbridge and Leapforce. You will have to take some assessments to qualify for tasks but there is a large variety of jobs available and so far payment has been prompt and as promised. Clickworker estimate that the average worker can make up to $10 an hour which is not a lot of money but it is something you can do in your own time and at home. You will have to be quite self disciplined to turn this into a full time paying job but it is a good option for boosting income or for part-time work.
